Two brothers stood side by side in defense of the Motherland from the first days of Russian aggression
Alexander devoted about twenty years to serving in the border department. But Andriy was a civilian and worked at a company that manufactured equipment for wind power plants, until the war broke into Ukraine by tornado, devastating everything in its path.
Alexander remembers the beginning of the war from the first minutes, because on February 24 he performed tasks to protect the state border. “I didn't immediately realize what had happened. And my mind refused to accept it all. While patrolling a stretch of coastline, I saw with my own eyes rockets flying past me, heard their whistle... then explosions. It was like terrible footage from a movie,” Alexander recalls. However, then there was no time to think for a long time - together with his brothers, the border guard went out to deter the enemy at a certain border.
When Andrew learned that the war had begun, he firmly decided to join his brother in order to face the enemy together. And even more motivation was the fact that the native village fell under occupation. Hearts are also hurt by the fact that their closest people — their parents — have remained under the constant gaze of the enemy.
Now the brothers are defending their native land in the Zaporizhzhya direction and dream of only one thing: to expel the occupiers beyond the borders of the country and return to their parents' house, in order to embrace the fate of their sons who are exhausted by grief and ignorance for the fate of their sons, and also to say: “Dad, mom — we are alive, we are back, and with us all that is called Ukraine!”
