SNS and UNDP plan to expand cooperation
Further interaction was devoted to the meeting of the leadership of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine with the project coordinators of the UN Development Programme, which took place today, August 11. In particular, it was about strengthening the capacity of the SNS in the field of humanitarian demining, strengthening the logistics capabilities of the Rescue Service and the prospects of cooperation with UNDP in the direction of modernization of the State Emergency Management Center.
UNDP is already working to support the SNS in the field of humanitarian demining. Thus, within the framework of the joint project, it is planned to provide four pyrotechnic calculations with special property and equipment for a total amount of about 625 thousand dollars. At the same time, given the huge amount of tasks facing the fire technicians of the State Emergency Service, this cooperation should be deepened.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Rescue Service appealed to UNDP for assistance in the implementation of a modern information logistics system in the bodies and units of the State Emergency Service.
The meeting also discussed the interaction of the parties in the implementation of one of the current key tasks of the SNS — the creation of a modern state management center in emergency situations, which will provide an integrated approach for the prompt collection, analysis and generalization of information, making management decisions, both in current and in emergency situations, will create an interagency a system of coordination, response and provision of information to authorities and society.
