The SNSS received eight modern drones for underwater demining
Today, October 31, the official transfer to the State Emergency Service of eight underwater drones of the FIFISH V6 EXPERT type took place. This was made possible thanks to the joint cooperation of LLC “Nova Poshta”, the Association “Participants in the Robotics and Automated Systems Market” of Robotics and Automation of Ukraine and the Charitable Foundation “Scientific and Technical Development of Ukraine”.
According to the head of the State Emergency Service Sergey Kruk, the Service is now developing a strategy for underwater demining. “The experience of Ukrainian sapper divers in this is unique. And the transferred equipment will certainly expand our capabilities. Therefore, I thank the partners for this necessary help,” he said.
In turn, the director of the Association “Participants of the Robotics and Automated Systems Market” Irina Legkobit stressed that these are the first eight drones out of 20 to be delivered by the State Emergency Service.
The enemy generously sows our land, reservoirs, rivers and seas with ammunition. Underwater demining is another front of work for our sapper divers. It should be noted that the use of the provided equipment will:
- significantly increase the level of protection of sapper divers during humanitarian demining work; especially during the neutralization of mine-traps and specially installed explosive devices; - improve the quality of work on the search, detection and neutralization of explosive objects; - expand the search capabilities ammunition at greater depths;
- to increase the level of training of sapper divers in accordance with the leading international practices
using the experience of international experts in the field of humanitarian demining.
For reference: to date, about 14 thousand square meters of Ukrainian waters are contaminated with explosive objects. To exchange them, only according to the preliminary forecast, it will take up to 10 years.
