Aid to Slovenia: Ukrainian rescuers fortify shores and dismantle debris caused by floods
Ukrainian rescuers have completed work to eliminate the effects of flooding in Slovenia. Employees of the State Emergency Service have already returned to Ukraine.
As you know, 51 Ukrainian rescuers and 19 units of equipment, together with colleagues from other European countries, eliminated the effects of the elements in the city. Rečica ob Savigny.
Ukrainian specialists who had experience in overcoming the consequences of the terrorist act of Russia at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant were involved in the work on changing the course of the Savigny River, fortifying its banks and disassembling the houses destroyed by the flood.
Thus, in the course of the works, 1525 m of river bed were cleared and expanded, 53.4 thousand cubic meters of soil and silt were moved, 210 m of dams were equipped and 1275 m of shore were fortified.
Also, the trawls of the State Emergency Service transported 11 pieces of engineering equipment from other countries to the area of reconstruction works, 1 house and 3 wooden structures destroyed by the flood were dismantled.
In turn, representatives of the Slovenian government, who visited rescuers at the site, highly appreciated the work of our specialists.
The tasks that were assigned to the Ukrainian rescuers were completed in full. The Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Liquidation of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia sent a letter of thanks to Ukraine for the assistance provided in the elimination of the consequences of the flood.
It should be noted that Ukraine's participation in the rescue operation took place on the basis of the relevant bilateral agreement.
