They helped organize a pseudo-referendum in the Kherson region: the participants of the so-called “management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation” were declared suspicious
Kremlin puppets together with residents of the Kherson region, including former law enforcement officers, as part of a criminal organization helped the enemy to hold an illegal referendum on the annexation of the captured territories to the Russian Federation.
At the moment, 34 defendants have been declared suspects in absentia.
Creating and ensuring the functioning of a fake law enforcement agency, the so-called “people's militia”, holding an illegal referendum and measures aimed at changing the state border are not the entire list of crimes of pro-Russian persons in the temporarily occupied Kherson region.
Thus, in the course of the pre-trial investigation, the DVB operatives collected the evidence base of the illegal activities of the criminal organization, which operated under the guise of “the head management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kherson region”.
Members of the gang committed serious and especially serious crimes against citizens of Ukraine, defended the interests of representatives of the Russian authorities, terrorized the local population and organized a pseudo-referendum.
It is worth noting that the illegitimate referendum was held with the physical support of local “militiamen”. The defendants dispersed the rallies, “suppressed” pro-Ukrainian sentiments among the civilian population, using psychological pressure and physical violence. Law enforcement officers found that the activities of the pseudo-body with a clear hierarchy and distribution of roles were organized by Russian curators of the region — 37-year-old employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and 47 year-old
fencer.
Two more of their accomplices — personnel officers of the Russian police — took leading positions in the so-called “people's militia” in order to carry out criminal influence in the region. Other fugitives — some of them former law enforcement officers — still carry out criminal orders in an attempt to build a career.
Currently, 34 defendants are charged with creating and participating in a criminal organization, organizing and holding an illegal referendum, treason, cooperative activities, kidnapping, extortion, illegal entry into homes and other possessions of persons, theft of firearms and war supplies, illegal seizure transportation by means of transport (part 1 and part 2 of article 255, part 3 of article 110, part 2 of article 111, part 5 and part 7 of article 111-1, part 3 of article 146, part 4 of article 189, part 2 of article 162, part 2 of article 262, part 2 of article. 289) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
An investigation is underway to establish and bring to justice all members of the criminal organization.
