Oleksandr Maklakov, a policeman from Dnipropetrovsk region, joined the brigade “Fury” in order to quickly liberate his state from the Russian invader
For more than a month he has been training as part of the assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine “Fury” in order to become stronger in the fight against the enemy. Investigating Department of Police No. 2 of the Sinelnikovsky District Police Department Alexander Maklakov seeks to prove his words by actions, so he was one of the first to sign up for the brigade.
A police lieutenant says he first heard about the kit from his father.
“Back in early March 2022, my father became a volunteer of the National Guard of Ukraine, so in the first month of the war I also applied to the military enlistment office. He wanted to defend his native land together with his father. But then I was refused - I was needed here as a policeman. When offensive brigades from the ranks of law enforcement officers began to form, he immediately became passionate about the desire and decided to continue serving in this unit,” he says.
He notes that his wife Daria supported his choice, because in January 2023 she herself signed a contract with the National Guard of Ukraine. She now serves as a tactical medic.
“So we have a family, a fighting character and a desire to protect our native land. Victory should be approached not by words, but by actions,” the policeman notes.
At home, Matthew's little son will be looking forward to dad and mom.
“I want to bring our victory closer by my actions so that my child will never know what war is again,” he says.
Now Alexander Maklakov is studying in three main areas: tactics, fire training and tactical medicine.
“Our instructors have real combat experience and during this time have already taught us many necessary skills,” the law enforcement officer notes about his training. - Now our battalion consists of volunteers themselves, who have made an informed choice, have values and beliefs. Among them are many of my compatriots from Dnipropetrovsk region, so I feel quite confident in the circle of like-minded people. I know that these people can always be relied upon, both in life and in battle.”
It was rage against the enemy that united us in the assault brigade of the National Police “Fury”. That's what we're all feeling right now,” concludes the police officer.
