Today, September 11, service dogs from European countries arrived in Lviv on the initiative of the Howard Buffett Foundation.

Therefore, the canine centers of the police of Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv, Rivne, Kherson, Chernihiv and Kirovohrad regions will be replenished with dogs of the breed German Shepherd and Malinois aged from one year.

All puppies completed a basic training course. In the future, special training awaits them, after which the dogs will help in conducting mining, searching for explosives and narcotic substances, as well as performing other tasks in the de-occupied territories.

In addition to dogs, police dog handlers also received the necessary accessories to care for them, feed, ammunition, training and training equipment, etc.

“On behalf of our service, I would like to sincerely thank our foreign partners for their help and support during this difficult time for Ukraine,” said the head of the Department of organization of dog activities of the National Police of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Svitlana Kolomiets.

In general, as part of this initiative, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies should receive 100 service dogs from different European countries.
