For almost a month, three servicemen and one policeman who lost their sight as a result of hostilities underwent an adaptation course in one of the rehabilitation centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The course was held with the assistance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and after rest, veterans are invited for employment in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Support, assistance and recovery of the system's fighters is a priority for our department.

In the program for men there were classes with a psychologist, lessons on orientation in space, to learn to move with the help of a cane without the help of others.

It sounds unrealistic, but also for the blind there are special applications that help you make calls, dial SMS and go online. So men learned IT-technologies, namely the use of gadgets.

One of the participants of the course is Bohdan from Dnipropetrovsk region. He lost his sight near Kreminna in battle, but before the full-scale invasion, the man worked as a programmer. Therefore, now he dreams of returning to his favorite business, so he persistently absorbed knowledge in IT lessons that will help him in the future.

The most enthusiastic participants of the “Reboot” course were classes with dogs and hippotherapy, where they could spend time with horses, feed them and have a little soul rest.

“It was my first time riding a horse, it was an incredible feeling. Together with me, these emotions were shared by two sons and wife,” the course participant shared the emotions after the hippotherapy.

On the final day of the course, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Inna Yashchuk visited the servicemen and police officers. She noted that cooperation between all rehabilitologists has become extremely important and has benefited in adapting to the life of veterans with vision loss.

Also, Inna Yashchuk noted that one of the main tasks of the Ministry is to help each of our fighters, to take care of the psychological and moral condition. After completion of rehabilitation, veterans who have lost their sight will be offered employment in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The course was conducted by rehabilitologists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine together with one of the public organizations.
