Children of defenders and defenders of Ukraine returned from vacation in Croatia
Children of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs returned from their vacation in the Croatian city of Novy Zedodolski. Their parents today carry out combat missions to defend the country and to rescue civilians on the line of contact with the enemy. Among the children are those whose parents have been wounded or killed in the line of duty since the beginning of a full-scale war. To escape from the events experienced, 36 children of policemen, border guards and national guards rested on the Adriatic coast for 10 days.
The trip was organized by the Ministry of the Interior at the invitation of the Association “Croatia Helps” and with the assistance of the First Lady.
Elena Zelenskaya stressed that the separate task of adults now is to win back childhood for our children, to return to them what was taken away by Russian aggression.
“Often children are not able to deal with stressful situations in the same way as adults. Children are more vulnerable, more concerned, and sometimes do not talk about their condition. Rest and reboot is one of the components of mental health recovery. Now it is necessary for all of us, and especially for children, who had to face the war face to face,” said Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko.
Today, the state authorities of Ukraine and the public are directing their efforts to provide the necessary psychological assistance and rehabilitation to citizens. In turn, the Ministry is doing everything possible to secure social support for employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and members of their families.
