'Hero children': 10-year-old Nikita Savicheva rescued her younger brothers and sister from burning house
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine awarded 8 children within the framework of the patriotic action “Children Heroes”. The purpose of the action is to celebrate children who showed themselves during the war, help the Ukrainian army or suffered from the aggression of the Russian invaders.
Among the award winners is a young girl from the city of Sumy - Nikita Savicheva. Despite her age, she was not afraid of the fire that engulfed her house from different sides when her parents were not at home, but immediately began to act and save her younger brothers and sister.
When the fire occurred, Nikita rested in the room, but her brother woke her up and reported the trouble.
The girl, covering her nose with a cloth, began to take four babies out of the smoky house and call for help.
In the end, she succeeded, but to the detriment of herself. Due to smoke poisoning, Nikita lost consciousness while waiting for rescuers. In the hospital, the girl spent about two weeks.
We are proud of our Ukrainian children! The stories of the winners of the patriotic action “Children Heroes” will be published every Sunday on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
