Dealers with fake documents and counterfeit goods: the situation at the border over the past day

During November 2, the border guards of the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky detachment prevented six attempts of illegal travel abroad on forged documents of persons with disabilities.

As law enforcement officials found out, offenders became regular customers of fraudsters. The latter, receiving monetary rewards, assured the men of the validity of military registration documents and that they could circumvent the established restrictions on leaving Ukraine.

At the same time, the offenders also tried to use the peculiarities of the passage of the transit section of the road “Odessa-Reni”.

According to these facts, a notification was sent to the National Police on the detection of signs of a crime under Article 358 of the Criminal Code “Counterfeiting documents, seals, stamps and forms, sales or use of forged documents, seals, stamps”.

But at the checkpoint “Shegyny”, a 44-year-old woman tried to carry the fur of a polar fox to Ukraine.

During the inspection of the car, the attention of the border guards was attracted by the seats of the sofas. Under the lower upholstery of the seats, the border guards found 25 fox pelts.

Continuing the inspection, the border guards, together with the customs officers, discovered other caches. Behind the decorative trimmings of the luggage compartment, in the structural cavities under the rear seats were hidden 5 laptops, 4 watches and 30 Apple brand chargers.

Minibus, gadgets and furs, estimated at UAH 500 thousand, were seized by customs officers.

In total, 72 thousand people and 18 thousand vehicles crossed the western borders of Ukraine with the EU and Moldova (in the Chernivtsi region) during the day.
