This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko in Rzeszow, Poland, during a meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administrations Mariusz Kaminski.
The main issue of the Ministers' meeting, with the participation of the heads of border services, police and rescue services of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland, was the issue of humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine.
“Your situation is very difficult, but today's time is very important for Ukraine. I know what an important role is now played by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. I think that during today's working meeting we will discuss all issues to help Ukraine,” said the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administrations of the Republic of Poland Mariusz Kaminski.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko thanked his Polish counterpart for helping to eliminate the consequences of the explosion of the Kakhovsk hydroelectric power plant, showed footage of the rescue operation taken on the coast of the Kakhovsky reservoir and in the city of Kherson in the first days of the tragedy after the disappearance of the reservoir.
“We are in the city of Rzeszow, which is a central hub of assistance to Ukraine. The speed with which the Polish Government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are working is impressive, in particular during the disaster — when the Russians blew up the Kakhovsk hydroelectric power plant,” the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine noted.
Igor Klymenko said that from the first hours of the liquidation of the consequences of the tragedy, Ukrainian rescuers used boats, generators, tankers and pumps, which Poland provided immediately after the explosion of the hydroelectric power plant.
“We needed help in those days. Our Polish colleagues responded quickly and provided it on time. Once again we want to thank all the Polish people for the help they provide us from the first day of the war and in any problems that accompany the war,” said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko.
