The State Border Guard Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine received assistance from the Austrian Government

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Mary Akopian and Head of the State Border Service of Ukraine Sergey Deineko met with representatives of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria and the Embassy of Austria in Ukraine.

A delegation of European partners led by the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Alexander Schallenberg visited the Separate Command of Protection and Provision of the State Border Guard Service in Kyiv.

During the visit, the Austrian partners transferred assistance from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Austria to the Border Agency of Ukraine.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Mary Akopian assured the participants of the meeting that any support is important, as a sincere manifestation of friendship and partnership. “We are very grateful for your government's support at a time of such great pressure on Ukraine and the hybrid threats of today,” she said.

“I am grateful for the long-term support of Ukraine's territorial integrity, independence and support of our Euro-Atlantic aspirations. A strong and powerful Ukraine is the key to security on the eastern borders of the EU. And your support is extremely important for us,” Serhiy Deyneko said.



At the same time, the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Aleksander Schallenberg thanked for the work done and noted: “Security in Ukraine is also security at our borders.” The border guards of Ukraine in total provided assistance of almost 80 thousand euros, including sleeping bags, water tanks, diesel fuel generators, mattresses.

It should be noted that the cooperation between the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Austria has been going on for many years and will continue to continue.

In particular, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine considers readiness to intensify cooperation with the Republic of Austria and the possibility of bilateral cooperation in the areas of combating cross-border crime and terrorism, risk analysis, exchange of information-analytical materials and statistical data, conducting joint research.

The parties also see prospects in cooperation on the use of modern technologies, such as the system of automated passport control E-Gates, the system of pre-registration of passengers APIS and others.
