Denis Monastyrsky: The government has settled the mechanism for leasing housing by police and civil protection service employees
At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on February 2, a decision was made to improve the social protection of police officers, commoners and chiefs of the civil protection service by providing them with housing on financial leasing terms.
In accordance with the adopted decision, the Government Decree No. 1201 of November 14, 2018, regulating the provision of rental housing to police officers and ordinary and senior members of the civil protection service, was brought into compliance with the current legislation. In particular, the amendments stipulate that not only the State Mortgage Institution, but also the private joint-stock company “Ukrainian Financial Housing Company” has the right to provide financial leasing services and transfer housing to lessees.
“Mechanisms of social protection of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in particular, the possibility of renting housing by police officers and civil protection service employees, should work effectively, taking into account all legislative changes. After all, this is one of the significant incentives for the proper performance of official duties by law enforcement officers and rescuers,” said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky.
Recall that the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 1201 established the size of part of the amount that reimburses part of the cost of housing, depending on the length of service of the lessee. It is from 5 to 30 percent of the monthly amount, which reimburses part of the cost of housing.
