Denis Monastyrsky: In the Kherson region, a high level of mining of roads, residential buildings, in particular, the police building was also mined
This was stated today, November 16, by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky during a live broadcast on the “United News” telethon. Stabilization measures in the de-occupied Kherson region were discussed: demining the territory, fixing war crimes and restoring the services of the migration service and service center.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed that at the moment there is a danger due to the mined territories: “The fire brigade of the State Emergency Service, the National Police and the military are working on this 24/7, which help us evacuate civilian facilities and critical infrastructure objects. We set the task to defund the main entrances to the houses within a month, so that people can live fully in the settlements.”
Denis Monastyrsky confirmed that in the Kherson region a high level of roads, objects, residential buildings, in particular the police building was mined. According to him, there are already dead and injured pyrotechnics, because the occupiers have left many explosive objects that react to certain vibrations.
Regarding the recording of war crimes, the Minister said that police and SBU officers find mass places of torture and burials: “In particular, 436 proceedings have already been initiated on the results of the first signs of war crimes, 11 places of deprivation of liberty have been identified, of which torture was used in 4 places. They are now examined by investigators and record every fact of torture, witnesses are found, and the bodies of the dead are exhumed. So far, 63 bodies have been found in the Kherson region, but we have to understand that the search has only just begun, so many more torture and burial sites will be found.”
Work has begun to identify collaborators. Monastyrsky assured that there are currently 16 checkpoints around Kherson: “763 people have already been checked, 5 of them have been detained and transferred to the Security Service of Ukraine on suspicion of collusion. Polygraphologists also work, who check people who may have collaborated with the occupiers. We have lists, people share information about who held what positions, who collaborated with them.”
Currently, the work of the State Migration Service has resumed in the Kherson region, three stationary branches operate in the region, in Kherson there is a mobile one. Also from today, the Service Center operates, but so far also in mobile format.
