Denis Monastyrsky spoke about the situation at the border and demining
Today, April 30, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine spoke about the situation on the northeastern border, the work of the sabotage and intelligence groups and the state of demining during the live broadcast of “Yedeni Novosti”.
“On the northeastern borders, which were liberated from the invaders, the border guards came to the border of the state, from where they took the first battle on February 24. From that day the war began. And the day of victory will be when the border guards will go to all the borders established by the Constitution of Ukraine,” the Minister stressed.
He noted that most of the border units are broken: “Repair and restoration are needed, but they have already begun to serve on the state border in Chernihiv, Kiev, Sumy regions.”
Regarding demining, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that this is a new challenge. Explosive objects can be found in forests, near the road, in the territories of houses.
“The ban on visiting forests is valid throughout Ukraine, but restrictions are set by local authorities. Therefore, listen to the recommendations that are established. Somewhere all the territories have been worked out and depopulated, humanitarian demining has been carried out and these territories are safer,” said Denis Monastyrsky.
The Minister reminded that the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has created a map of demining, it can be viewed on the official website or Google map and you can find out where it is currently safe.
“We turned to international partners for help, today the Government has decided to double the number of pyrotechnics. Active recruitment and training, procurement of new equipment is underway. We have reviews from USA, Canada, UK and Poland. They are ready to help us,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
Regarding sabotage and intelligence groups, Denis Monastyrsky said: “People should be much more vigilant now than before. Since the beginning of the war, the police have received more than 1.5 million messages for the 102 service. Therefore, we expect that there will be many more such messages. The activity of the DRG has now decreased, compared to the first days of the war. We are clearly working out critical infrastructure facilities.”
