Denis Monastyrsky held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Suleiman Soylu
The key topic of the talks is to discuss the issue of protecting the national interests of both states and strengthening regional security, effectively countering transnational crime and terrorism.
The Turkish counterpart once again assured in the permanent support of the official Ankara for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the inviolability of its borders. He also announced the intention of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey in the near future to send assistance of a material and technical nature to strengthen the capabilities of the services of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The parties discussed:
- issues within the competence of the departments, on the eve of the Tenth Meeting of the High-Level Strategic Council of Ukraine-Turkey chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan;
- strengthening the contractual and legal basis of cooperation, by completing as soon as possible the procedure of coordination and signing of the Protocol between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation of law enforcement agencies.
- dynamics of cooperation of the State Border Service of Ukraine with the Coast Guard of Turkey;
- Strengthening the interaction of the National Guard of Ukraine with the Gendarmerie of the Republic of Turkey.
The parties agreed to work on an important aspect of regional security - the further strengthening of the mutually beneficial strategic partnership between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey.
