The Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the Governments of the “G7” countries for the consistent and constant support of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. And also informed the ambassadors about the security situation in our country and on its borders, about the existing threats and the response to them of the units of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in close cooperation with other state bodies and the Armed Forces.
During the meeting, the main focus was on the shelling of settlements in the Luhansk region, carried out by the Russian occupation forces this morning: shells hit a kindergarten in the village of Stanytsya Luhanska and a school in the village of Popasna.
Separately, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine informed the delegation about the training of forces and means of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which took place this month in Kyiv and Kherson region in order to establish the interaction of all units during the response to destabilization situations.
“In 2014, small groups of people seized administrative buildings and announced the seizure of cities. We know about the consequences of these scenarios when a small light flares up into a large hearth. We understand that the speed of decision-making and response in such situations, in particular by the National Police and the National Guard, depends on whether such a fire will flare up today. Therefore, we are determined to react harshly to such manifestations,” Denis Monastyrsky assured.
According to him, training of units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system will take place in the near future in five regions of the country. Also, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs proposed to hold weekly online meetings with the ambassadors of the “Big Seven” in Ukraine in order to update information about the situation in the country.
