The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky told on how it is possible to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens in extreme conditions in the absence of light and heat.

“This is an unprecedented challenge for all of us. During these days, only the units of the State Emergency Service and the National Police deployed more than 1000 points of inviolability on the territory of the state,” the minister said.

Light, communication and heat will be provided there. These are the basic things that people need in cities where there is no light and heating.

Also Denis Monastyrsky said that in addition to the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, large business is actively involved in the deployment of points of invulnerability.

“I am very grateful to businesses, in particular to retail chains, who have deployed the same items. In total, today there are more than 3000 points of inviolability throughout the state, organized by the authorities and businesses,” the Minister said.

There, citizens can charge the phone, send SMS messages, contact their relatives, and also warm up.

During the broadcast, they also talked about changes in the criminogenic situation in the country due to the power outage.

“We have tripled the presence of the National Police, road and foot patrols. In addition, today we are helped by voluntary formation of territorial communities. Soldiers of the National Guard, who are not at the front, are involved in the patrol,” said Denis Monastyrsky.

According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the increase in police uniforms on the streets did not lead to a worsening of the criminogenic situation in the country.

But he noted that there has been an increase in the number of reports to hotlines about domestic violence recently.

Denis Monastyrsky also emphasized in this context that the campaign “16 days of activism against gender-based violence” has started from today.

“Violence should not be passed on to loved ones and relatives. This is important for understanding us as an independent full-fledged nation,” the minister said.
