The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky told about the most pressing issues related to the beginning of the new school year on the air of the tele-marathon “United News”. It was about preparing educational institutions for offline classes.

“Understanding readiness for the educational process is completely different today. For two years we experienced online learning due to the pandemic, now we have another challenge — war. First of all, in these conditions, we must take care of the safety of children,” the minister said.

In order to create safe conditions for studying at parties, today the employees of the State Emergency Service participate in the survey of educational facilities in order to determine the possibility of their use for shelter.

“The first violin in this process is played by local authorities, because they are responsible for the preparation. In turn, we assigned a rescuer to each educational institution in the regions - this is a specific employee who will also be responsible for whether the institution is ready for the new school year. Today, according to our data, about 30% of educational institutions of all levels are provided with shelters,” the minister noted.

The best indicators in Odessa, Ternopil, Lviv, Khmelnytsky regions, as well as in the city. Kyiv.

“We also understand that in some schools, face-to-face classes will not start — we are talking about regions where active fighting is taking place. Offline is planned in the so-called rear areas. In addition, the number of children in these regions increased due to internal displacement. There, local governments are working on the implementation of the recommendations of the State Emergency Service on the preparation of shelters in accordance with the norms. Checks continue,” Denis Monastyrsky said.

Recall that in order to provide assistance to the authorities and heads of educational institutions, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has developed and published on its official website recommendations on the organization of shelters, algorithms of actions to provide shelter for participants in the educational process and a memo to the head of the educational institution.

In addition to the state of readiness of shelters, specialists check the availability and serviceability of alert systems, the state of fire safety, and attention is paid to training personnel and students to act in conditions of war and other emergencies.

In order to further protect schoolchildren, the Minister recommended several simple, but sufficiently effective solutions. Zokrema. installation in educational institutions of police call buttons, video surveillance cameras and fencing of school grounds.

Also on the air of the tele-marathon, he advised his parents to personally visit the school.

“I am sure parents have to personally make sure that their child is safe during training and that the conditions of stay during the air alarm are appropriate. It is much easier to ensure the safety of children at school than at home - because it is an organized approach to education, and to safety,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is convinced.
