Service dogs are indispensable helpers of border guards. Few people know, but not only brave and courageous shepherds help border guards to guard the border. There are other breeds among the four-legged guards: spaniels, fox terriers, yacht terriers, jack russell terriers, beagles, etc.

Despite their small size, they are true specialists in detecting weapons, explosives, drugs and tobacco products.

Such a small but dexterous assistant was chosen by the border guard Sergey Goluboyar. His partner is Dinara the fox terrier, with whom they learn to look for drugs.

Fox terriers are natural hunters. Their enthusiasm for hunting made them indispensable helpers in the military service and now these shaggy experts help border guards to guard the border. Despite their small size, they are true specialists in detecting weapons, explosives, drugs and tobacco products.

The breed was bred specifically for hunting foxes, and in 1876, hard-haired fox terriers were recognized as a separate breed of dogs.

“I have been in cynology for 15 years and I can't imagine my service without a four-legged partner. For me, a service dog is not just a combat unit, it is first and foremost a reliable assistant, partner and loyal friend, with which to guard the border is much more effective,” the dog handler shared.

Before that, Sergei had German shepherds. Now the dog trainer is raising a fox terrier. He notes that this breed is not inferior to large breeds in work. And they are also very active, inquisitive and playful dogs, so Dinara has become the favorite of the whole family.

Very soon, having completed her training, small and dexterous Dinara will replenish the ranks of four-legged guards and, on a par with other tailed assistants, will help border guards fight illegal activity on the border.
