Four-legged Guardsmen of the 5th Slobozhanska Brigade of the NGU received medals for their dedicated service
The award ceremony took place in the central square of the hero city of Kharkiv, where representatives of the command of the unit solemnly congratulated the furry guards and their dog handlers.
Three service dogs from the mobile dog group of the 5th Slobozhansky Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine were awarded special departmental medals “For Dedicated Service”.
The service dog Irbis is awarded the 1st degree medal, and the dogs Amorek, Eric and Delta are the 3rd degree. The dog Delta was on combat duty, so was unable to participate in the award, the medal will be presented to her separately.
“We are partners, true brothers, so it is easy and interesting for us to carry the service together. Alone we are separate combat units, and together we are a powerful team, a canine couple that has proven its effectiveness and shows high results,” says dog trainer Dmitry about his dog Irbis.
In the period from February 27 to September 30, 2023 at the checkpoints of the city. In Kharkiv and Kharkiv region, the dog scientists of our brigade together with their pets found: grenades - 65 units, cartridges of different calibers - more than 10 thousand units, explosive objects - more than 50 units, 2 grenade launchers, 3 automatic rifles and 1 machine gun.
