Through the “green corridor” from Ukraine they tried to remove a collection of ancient coins
At the checkpoint “Smilnitsa” in Lviv region, an attempt to illegally export 372 ancient coins was stopped.
The attempt to illegally move objects that may be of historical and cultural value across the Ukrainian-Polish border was stopped during the implementation of information by the operational officers of the Lviv Border Detachment together with the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The coins were found by border guards during a joint inspection with customs officers among the personal belongings of the driver of the Dodge car - a 38-year-old citizen of Estonia, who was heading through the “green corridor”. At the initiative of the border guards of the operational-search unit, his car was sent for additional inspection.
The collection of coins was seized by customs officers for examination.
