CEO of the American company Clearview AI, whose product identified invaders and traitors, will continue cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs
The meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the American company Clearview AI, Johan Ton-Tat, was held on April 12, 2014, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Tymchenko together with representatives of the National Police of Ukraine.
Participants discussed the results of the use by representatives of operational and investigative units of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine of the company's software product and further steps for cooperation.
“With the beginning of the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, operational units of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs use the digital platform of the American company Clearview AI in the identification of persons when documenting war crimes, - Leonid Tymchenko noted. - Artificial intelligence created by the company provides law enforcement agencies with the opportunity to receive information on identification persons using a special platform for investigations. I am glad that through cooperation with our American colleagues, we are able to effectively investigate the crimes of the Russian occupiers and identify the perpetrators.”
Clearview AI was also among the first organizations to provide technological support to the Border Agency of Ukraine in March 2022.
During a meeting at the Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine with CEO of Clearview AI, Johan Ton-Tat, the border guards discussed the results of cooperation on the identification of the persons of Russian invaders.
Since the beginning of a full-scale war, this software has helped to significantly improve the effectiveness of the fight against crimes that fall under the competence of the border agency.
In particular, using Clearview AI, border guards were able to identify more than 10,000 people, including: captured citizens of Ukraine; persons involved in the illegal transfer of children from the TOT of Ukraine to the Russian Federation; Russian servicemen and members of the NZF; Russian propagandists who provide material support to the occupation forces and are involved in the information war against Ukraine; collaborators and traitors of Ukraine; persons involved in the commission of criminal and administrative offenses, etc.
For reference. The Clearview platform contains the largest known database of more than 30 billion images of faces obtained from publicly available web sources, including the media, photo websites, public social media, and many other open sources.
