This is a reward for all our guys — Hero of Ukraine Police Colonel Oleg Lakusta
This is how a law enforcement officer commented on his award, to whom today, February 24, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star.
Oleg Lakusta - head of the CORD department in the GUNP in the Chernivtsi region. He has served in the internal affairs bodies for more than 20 years. During this time, special forces participated and led special operations to detain especially dangerous criminals. He gained his combat experience during the 2014 anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. And from the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, a policeman in the special purpose regiment “SAFARI” performed combat tasks in the Kiev, Sumy, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhya regions: liberated and cleared settlements from invaders.
“For personal courage and heroism in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath,” the President of Ukraine awarded Oleh Lakusta (nickname “Mangust”) the highest state award - the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star.
“This is not my award, it is a reward for all our guys who defend the state at the forefront,” the policeman notes.
