“Stormy”: GUARD OF ATTACK. How it all began
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has launched a special project in which it tells about each of the brigades of the “Guard of Offensive”, the formation of which began a year ago. In this series of the special project, we will show the team “Stormy”.
This is 1 Presidential Brigade of operational assignment named after Hetman Petro Doroshenko. Combat unit of the National Guard of Ukraine.
“It's not so scary to die as not to see Victory with your own eyes!” - says the machine-gunner of the operational task force of the assault brigade “Burevy” with the call sign “Hamlet”. He is 33 years old. The serviceman quotes Taras Shevchenko and Lesya Podervyansky with such a literary invocation. And all because before the war he was a sound engineer on television, starred in video clips, worked with show business stars. But everything changed with the start of a large-scale war. “Hamlet” as a volunteer went to serve in the “Storm” - a brigade of a new type, with modern weapons.
Since 2022, the National Guardsman with his combat unit has been in the fiercest battles in Luhansk region, participated in the defense of cities and villages in Donetsk region. Now units of the brigade hold the front line in Luhansk region.
This brigade consists of courageous, motivated and well-trained servicemen. The slogan of the Brigade is “The Brigade of Recycling of the Russian Military”.
