Bukovina border guards detained 16 men in military service
Over the weekend, border guards of the Chernivtsi Detachment stopped nine attempts to cross the border illegally and detained 16 citizens who tried to illegally enter Romania and Moldova.
Last night, the officers of the operational-search department together with the border police of the Falk department detained a group of 5 unknown persons who were heading to the border with Romania. The men were unable to explain the purpose of their stay in the controlled border area. Subsequently, residents of the Chernivtsi region confessed their intention to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Romanian border.
In addition, last weekend, border guards of the border departments of the border service “Sokyriany”, “Kelmentsy”, “Porubne” and “Selyatyn” on eight occasions detained 11 more conscripted men who were illegally trying to cross the border with Romania and Moldova. Violators of the border were residents of Rivne, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Ternopil regions.
All men were taken to the border units for the preparation of materials and to be held accountable under Article 204-1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure “Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine”. In relation to the three men, a report was sent to the National Police under Article 332 of the Criminal Code “Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine”.
