In the history of warfare, storming trenches has always been a crucial part of a strategy that requires courage, agility, and good preparation from soldiers.
Trenches are recessed or raised positions on the battlefield that are usually used to defend or shell enemy forces. Storming trenches requires both careful planning and special tactics. National guards of the Spartan brigade practice all this during tactical exercises.
“Now we are working out the assault of trenches, the approach of the BTRs to the trenches and the destruction of the enemy directly in the trenches by two groups using grenades, small arms, smoke and BTRs,” says the platoon commander of the Spartan Brigade Hranitsa.
As the National Guard notes, everything comes with experience. The fighters gained their skills in combat, during the storming of the village of Kozacha Lopan, the checkpoint “Mayorsk”, in the defense of Bakhmut and in one of the last hot spots - the settlement of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhya region.
“We conduct training of fighters according to what we saw there, taking into account all the shortcomings, we are refining, we are doing everything to win. A lot of mistakes are that fighters run forward out of fear, and then get serious injuries and need a long evacuation. Now we are trying to slowly and balanced assess the situation, the situation on the battlefield, because in the trenches of the enemy there are a lot of masked rooms dug up. We try to tell the fighters to find the enemy's “holes” and we bear less losses,” Hranytsya adds.
According to the fighters, many territories are mined by the enemy and the most difficult thing is to reach the trenches, bypassing minefields. The soldiers after such a march are already exhausted, but they hold on and continue the battle in the trenches.
Storming trenches is a task that requires not only physical endurance, but also psychological strength of the fighters. In such situations, teamwork and discipline are key factors in a successful assault.
Spartan National Guardsmen continue to gain experience and improve tactics to ensure the most effective result and achieve victory on the battlefield.
