Investigators proved that a resident of Donetsk region since 2014 has been a member of illegal armed formations on the territory of the so-called “DPR” as a rangefinder in the Howitzer Self-Propelled Artillery Division, 1 Howitzer Self-Propelled Artillery Battery.
After the de-occupation of the Kharkiv region, the 37-year-old attacker from February 24 to September last year took an active part in hostilities near Kupyansk on the side of the occupation troops of the Russian Federation.
In May, he was wounded during an artillery attack and was being treated at Velikoburlutsk Central Hospital.
Investigators of the Kupyansk RVP together with the employees of the 7th Department (for servicing the Kharkiv region) of the DSR NP of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Kupyansk District Prosecutor's Office in absentia informed the attacker about the suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 260 (creation of paramilitary or armed formations not provided for by law) and Part 1 of Article 258-3 (creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On June 1, the pre-trial investigation was completed. The materials of criminal proceedings with the indictment are directed to the court.
For crimes committed, a man faces up to 15 years in prison with or without confiscation of property.
