Flight 54: “He was and is the most important person in my life” — wife of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky who died in the plane crash
The morning of January 18, 2023 became tragic for the whole country — in Brovary the helicopter of the State Emergency Service, on board of which the top leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was headed by the Head of the Department Denis Monastyrsky, crashed.
The plane crash claimed the lives of 14 people, including one child. Another 25 people were injured.
Talking about the life path, the wife of the deceased Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Zhanna Monastyrska recalls how she did not want her husband to head the department, but understood — that this is really the responsibility that he is ready to assume.
“He had many ideas on how to reform the law enforcement system, how to increase the level of security in the country as a whole,” says his wife.
Also Denis Monastyrsky was actively engaged in social and volunteer activities.
“If we talk about the act I'm most proud of, it's how Denis conducted himself on February 24, 2022,” his wife added.
