Bakhmut defended and captured a “Vagnerite”: in Sumy region they said goodbye to border guard Alexei Fedorov

The border guards took their brother, Master Sergeant Alexei Fedorov, on the last journey. He died on October 22 due to wounds received while performing tasks in the combat zone in Donetsk region.

Alexey Fedorov was born on March 29, 1981 in the village of Orlivka, Yampil district, Sumy region. In 1999-2000 he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In 2003, Alexey was called to the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He served in the units of the Sumy border detachment. In 2016 - transferred to the Luhansk border patrol.

On February 24, 2022, Alexey Fedorov was one of the first to courageously meet the enemy during the offensive of the occupying forces of Russia in the direction of the settlement of Stanitsa Luhansk, Luhansk region. There, the border guards took the first battle with the enemy.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Alexei's unit performed a combat mission to defend the settlement of Kreminna in the Luhansk region. Since January 2023, Alexey as part of the unit continued to perform combat tasks in defense of the fortress city of Bakhmut.

On February 21, 2023, Alexei Fedorov's unit took up defense in the area of Fedorivka settlement of Bakhmut district of Donetsk region. The enemy with small groups of infantry began an attack on the positions of the border guards from different sides.

Attacked by the enemy with fire support from mortars, barrel artillery and AGS. The border guards determined the direction of the main attack and began to repel the attack. Under cover, they approached the enemy and eliminated most of the occupier's unit.

Then, during the battle, which lasted about three hours, Alexei Fedorov received a gunshot wound to the chest. Thanks to his determination and courage, a member of the PVC assault group “Wagner” was captured, who provided the Defense Forces with important information about the enemy.

The 42-year-old soldier was buried in the cemetery in the village of Orlivka, Shostka district. Three children remained orphans - two daughters and a son.
