First, as part of their units, border guards defended their homeland in Chernihiv region, and later went to Donetsk region. Medics do not wait until the battle is over, they help the wounded under shelling.

In both, there were cases when life literally hung in the hair from death.

“During one of the shelling of our positions, the radio station reported that there were wounded. When they took one of them out, I stopped. In front of us, shells were scattered a few meters away. These few seconds saved our lives,” says Valentyn, who has the nickname “Molfar”.

“One day my life could be cut short in an instant by a volley of tanks. We took the wounded by car to the stabilization point. The driver noticed the flash in time and instantly began to maneuver at a frantic speed. It saved us,” Yevgeny recalls under the pseudonym “Sonic”.

There are a lot of such cases for guys. But they continue to save lives despite all the front-line risks and threats.
