“White Angels”, despite the shelling of cars, successfully evacuated 10 residents of Bakhmut
Near Chasovy Yar, the police detachment “White Angels” came under fire. The enemy hit from artillery along the road on which the crew was traveling to evacuate. The shell ruptured near the car. Five policemen received a contusion, traumatic brain injuries, they were given medical assistance. On the same day, the White Angels returned to service and evacuated 10 residents of Bakhmut.
“We went to pick up people, saw traces of a fresh arrival on the road and began to drive around it. At that moment, they felt a powerful blow, - the police say. “The windshield burst, there were sparks in the cabin, fragments flew, smoke left.”
The crew survived only thanks to armor. The force of the impact was such that the armored door curved. The compartment of the car, designed to accommodate things and not protected by armor, was pierced with fragments through.
Despite the contusion, the “White Angels” instantly oriented themselves and emerged from under the fire. On the road, they warned about the shooting of other drivers.
The police were examined by medics and provided the necessary assistance. Immediately after that, the evacuation team in another car returned to the civilians waiting to be rescued. “White Angels” successfully removed 9 adults and a child from danger.
Police officers refused hospitalization. At the moment, their condition is stable.
