The security project will cover almost 10 thousand educational institutions, - Igor Klymenko
In the near future, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Education, on behalf of the President of Ukraine and a decision of the Government, will implement a large-scale project on a safe educational environment, which will cover more than 10 thousand educational institutions. This was announced on the air of the National Telemarathon “United News” by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko.
“The goal is to have a police officer equipped in each school, trained according to new programs,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
Such a police officer, together with teachers, will take measures on traffic control, public order, as well as respond to appeals and notifications of students and teachers. Also, this police officer will be in charge of sending children to shelters.
To do this, the State Emergency Service, together with the Ministry of Education, will again check all shelters.
“85% of educational institutions already have safety passports, where we take into account not only shelters, but also how the school is equipped with fire and security alarms, whether there is a pedestrian crossing near the school, shops selling cigarettes and alcohol,” the Minister said.
He added that it is also about installing frame, arch and hand-held detectors at the entrances to schools so that any foreign person or children cannot enter the school and carry dangerous objects.
According to him, in the near future it will be announced the start of recruitment and selection of candidates for these positions.
