Border security, demining, missing persons and development of cooperation: Igor Klymenko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Ukraine
Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Ukraine Marek Shafin. The issues of bilateral cooperation and support of Ukraine in countering Russian armed aggression were discussed.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko, Attache for Police Affairs, Official Representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Slovakia at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine Ludvik Scholtes and representatives of the Ministry.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs thanked the Government of Slovakia for 2 units of Bozena mechanized demining machines, which in the fall will be transferred to the State Emergency Service for demining in Kherson region.
According to Igor Klymenko, Ukraine and Slovakia are working closely on preparing agreements on readmission, fighting crime and cooperation in the field of chemical, environmental and nuclear security at the border. Currently, work is underway on coordination and in the future - signing the relevant documents.
In addition, the issue of migration policy was raised during the meeting. Currently, there are officially about 130,000 of our citizens in Slovakia.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Ukraine Marek Shafin and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also discussed the search for relatives of missing persons. According to Igor Klymenko, there are enough specialists and mobile DNA machines in Ukraine. Therefore, Ukraine is ready to organize training on the exchange of experience with international partners in this field.
At the end, the parties reached an agreement on issues for further cooperation and thanked each other for a fruitful meeting.
