Vadim Moskalenko — Major of the National Guard, commander of the brigade artillery group of the assault unit of the NGO “Krasnaya Kalina”. He said that the active process of forming the brigade is currently underway. For the courage and steadfastness shown during the deterrence of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, the soldier was awarded the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree.
As Major Moskalenko notes, there are a lot of people who want to serve in the brigade “Red Viburnum” and now there are extremely motivated fighters from various military units who responded to the call to replenish the units of the “Guard of Offensive”. There is no shortage of candidates from among civilians.
“All those who come to us and want to serve, we divide into functional groups. At the next stage, these people fall for vocational training and coordination in training centers. For example, last week more than 100 people came to us, fully selected for service in the assault brigade,” the officer said.
The uniqueness of this brigade is that it is formed on the basis of a special purpose military unit, which since 2014 has gained strong experience, conducting combat operations in many hot locations within the ATO and the Joint Forces.
“We, from the junior sergeant to the brigade commander, all personnel have combat experience. It is they who will train recruits and current security officers who decide to change or improve their professional functionality. Another uniqueness lies in the fact that “Red Viburnum” receives new weapons and military equipment, in particular from partner countries. After all, it is clear that the more high-quality weapons the unit will have, the higher the ability to perform combat tasks,” Vadim Moskalenko outlined the prospects.
Meanwhile, as the commander of the brigade artillery group assured, the soldiers of the “Red Viburnum” have already begun training on some types of modern equipment. In the future, when the unit is fully prepared and equipped for tasks, it will be sent to the combat area.
“Becoming a stormtrooper is actually not a very difficult thing if there is a desire. As for specialization, everyone should understand what they are committed to, who they want to be - an artillery officer, a sniper, a drone operator or a machine gunner. At the beginning, first of all, we take into account the wishes of the candidates. Subsequently, taking into account their physical and other data, during further training we make certain adjustments if a person for some reason cannot perform the tasks that he would like,” the soldier noted.
