“Parents hide their children from the police so that we do not evacuate them,” - White Angel Pavlo Dyachenko
Evacuation is constantly underway in Donetsk region, in particular, the “White Angels” are very active in removing people from the Toretsk community. Most people realize that they are in danger and independently call the police with a request to take them to a more secure area.
There are times when the White Angels unit re-evacuates the same families. After all, most return home, despite the danger of dying from enemy shelling. However, in the end they are forced to flee again, says one of the white angels Pavlo Dyachenko.
Often parents hide their children from the police so as not to leave and not leave their home. But in this way, parents only expose themselves and children to death, remaining in dangerous and shelled settlements. Then the police have to explain and persuade people to flee.
Pavlo Dyachenko says that there were cases when young children died because their parents stayed directly on the front line. Recently, this situation was in the village of Druzhba, Toretsk community of Donetsk region.
To prevent such tragedies, the police are actively working, risking their lives, because they themselves come under fire from the Russian army. Police officers not only respond to calls from people who want to leave, but also independently drive along the front line, persuading Ukrainians to evacuate to safe territory.
Today, the priority remains the evacuation of all children from the frontline areas, so that the new generations grow and develop together with their peers in a calm environment and do not harm their mental and physical health.
The White Angels emphasize that in the current conditions of a full-scale war and counteroffensive of Ukrainian troops, evacuation from settlements located near the front line is paramount in order to save not only their lives, but also their families.
