Bankruptcy of Delta Bank: former owner will be tried, other accomplices declared wanted

The defendant ensured the conclusion of a credit line agreement with a non-resident controlled entity, which is obviously unprofitable for the bank, as a result of which the bank lost assets of almost UAH 900 million.

The investigation of other facts that led to the bankruptcy of the bank is ongoing. The chairman of the board of directors, the head of one of the banking departments and the director of the company, who were complicit in these criminal offenses, were declared wanted.

Investigators of the Corruption Crimes Investigation Department of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General have completed the pre-trial investigation in two criminal proceedings related to PJSC “Delta Bank”.

During 2013-2014, the defendant secured the conclusion of a credit line agreement with a non-resident controlled entity, which is known to be unprofitable for the bank, as a result of which the bank lost assets of almost UAH 900 million.

Also during the same period, the former chairman of the supervisory board of the financial institution deliberately did not indicate in the tax declaration on the property status and income for 2015 information about income, namely 153 million 520 thousand hryvnias received from controlled sources outside Ukraine, and did not pay taxes to the budget for more than that 33 million hryvnias.

According to the results of the investigative actions, on the basis of the collected evidence, indictments were drawn up, which are directed to the court.

The suspect faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to twelve years.

In order to compensate for the damage caused, the court arrested the property of the suspects: land plots, residential premises, vehicles.
