By attacking infrastructure, Russia is trying to force Ukraine to sit down at the negotiating table — Yevhenii Yenin
In the past day, the enemy has shelled significantly more settlements than law enforcement officers usually record. Today, there are also intrusions into infrastructure facilities. This was stated on the air of the “Unified News” tele-marathon by First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Yevgeny Yenin.
“In the past day, the police recorded significantly more shelling of settlements than we usually record. Russia does not stop in its attacks on the energy resources of Ukraine and has the desire to leave our country in the dark, create a humanitarian catastrophe, create a maximum load on security facilities. Yesterday, damage was recorded to both heating stations and thermal substations, transformers and water pipes. Today, there are also intrusions into the infrastructure facilities of the capital, Zhytomyr, Dnipro. As a result of the shelling, some areas of these cities remain without light and water. We see that the Russian authorities are trying in every way to force us to sit down at the negotiating table, attacking infrastructure facilities, but not to break our will,” Yevgeny Yenin said.
Separately, the first deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed that citizens should not independently try to target enemy drones with small arms.
“Protection should be optimal and the result of the use of weapons should not cause harm to the civilian population, buildings. Because cartridges released from small arms can cause much more damage. The use of small arms against drones will be mainly outside of settlements in order to prevent damage to other objects. A drone, even if it is shot down while falling, it equally explodes and can hit another object and cause significant damage. Citizens should not use guns and try to heal from it,” Yevhenii Yenin added.
