Lawyer is suspected of attacking the film crew of the program “Schemes”
The legal assessment of the conflict is provided based on the results of the investigative actions carried out within the framework of open criminal proceedings. Operational support of the investigation is carried out by the Department for the Protection of Public and State Interests of the National Police of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, during the filming in March 2019 in the village of Chabany in the Kyiv region, the film crew was attacked in the premises of the village council.
Police determined that one of the attackers, who turned out to be a lawyer, interfered with the shooting, injured the operator and broke the video camera.
On May 30, the prosecutor of the Brovary District Prosecutor's Office of the Kyiv region informed the attacker about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 345-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Threat or violence against a journalist).
Such a crime is punishable by restriction of liberty for up to five years or imprisonment for the same term.
