The 90th anniversary of the Holodomor. The genocide of Ukrainians continues — the criminal is the same

These days we honor the memory of the victims of the Holodomors in Ukraine, among whom the artificial famine of 1932-33 was the most terrible.

It was terrible not only because of the number of deaths — according to various estimates, between 7 and 10 million people — but also because this famine was artificially created by the then Kremlin, led by Stalin. Everything was calculated and clearly laid out in the plans of the bread plots, brought to each district and village. All for the sake of the so-called great leap from the industrialization of the Soviet empire.

Moscow and Stalin could not forgive Ukrainians for the national-liberation struggles of 1917-21 and the almost complete rejection of the Bolsheviks and their power.

Historians argue that immediately after the seizure of power in Kharkiv, and then in Kiev, the Russian Bolsheviks introduced their million-dollar army into the territory of Ukraine with only one goal - to curb hundreds of peasant uprisings, to take bread from the peasantry and feed Soviet Russia, whose economy after the Bolshevik coup and the beginning of the Red Terror, it collapsed.

Ukrainians, having survived the famine of 1921-22, then withstood it. Practically thanks to Ukrainian bread, brought together by the working hands of the Ukrainian peasant, not only Russian cities and villages were saved from starvation, but also the Soviet government itself.

But decades later, the authorities destroyed the Ukrainian peasantry, taking from every home not only bread, but all food. Starving death was the punishment for the fact that Ukrainians did not fulfill Stalin's sky-high plans for the production of bread. In order for the verdict to be completed, entire villages and districts were put on so-called “black boards”, and then blocked by special units of the OGPU or army units, so that the starving peasants could not leave their area and escape from hunger in another region.

The Holodomor of 1332-33 was recognized as an act of genocide of the Ukrainian people not only in Ukraine, but also in 32 countries of the world. In particular, in most countries of the EU, North and South America, Australia, as well as 26 US states, the European Union, the Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church of Constantinople, the OCU and the UGCC.

The only country that vehemently denies the fact of the genocide of the Ukrainian people during the Holodomor of 1932-33 is the Russian Federation, the legal successor of the Soviet Union, whose top state leadership planned and executed the crime of organizing an artificial famine. And today, Russia is an aggressor state, a terrorist state, a state that not only, contrary to international law, launched a bloody full-scale war against Ukraine, but which still commits the act of genocide of Ukrainians because of terrible war crimes.

Bucha, Irpin, Gostomel, Borodianka, Mariupol, Izyum, Kherson — tens of thousands of Ukrainian civilians were killed, including children, women and the elderly. Schools, kindergartens, hospitals were destroyed by rockets and bombs.

In the temporarily occupied territories, thousands of Ukrainian children are forcibly removed by the Russian occupiers into the interior of Russia. Where the boot of the Russian occupier stands, Ukrainian national symbols, the Ukrainian language are destroyed and banned, textbooks on Ukrainian history and literature are burned. In the territories liberated from the occupiers, the first thing that terrifies even Ukrainian military and law enforcement officers are bloody Russian torture, mass burials of victims, thousands of hectares of mined areas - agricultural land and civilian objects.

What is it but genocide?

Unlike the events of 90 years ago, we Ukrainians have our own state, our own security and defense forces and, with the support of the whole free world, we fight back heroically against the enemy in order to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the operation of the Constitution and laws of Ukraine throughout its territory within the internationally recognized borders.

We are aware of the great sacrifice of our ancestors, our predecessors and our generations in the name of freedom, in the name of Ukraine and in the name of our future.

We bow our heads in mourning in memory of the millions of Ukrainians innocently killed by Russia by artificial hunger or bullets, on the battlefield or in the walls of Russian torture. We bow our heads in mourning for millions of unborn Ukrainians because of the purposeful genocidal Russian imperial policy towards Ukraine and Ukrainians.

We recite the words of prayer and say: eternal memory.

We will never forget you. We will take revenge on you. The enemy will pay for everything and respond.

We will defend Ukraine.

Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!
