9 thousand dollars, car and land on bail: police exposed a group of extortionists, including a deputy (VIDEO)
A 27-year-old businessman turned to the police of the Vinnytsia region with a statement that since September four men threaten him with physical abuse and force him to repay the debt.
The attackers, aged between 28 and 38, including a 34-year-old deputy, demanded $9,000 from the victim and forced him to write a refund receipt and bail out a Nissan Primastar car and a plot of land.
During the searches, law enforcement officers seized money, mobile phones, a receipt from the victim, keys and a certificate of registration of the vehicle.
The police informed all defendants about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Art. 189 (Extortion) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Violators face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
For the organizer and two of his accomplices, the court chose a precautionary measure in the form of detention, the fourth - round-the-clock house arrest.
