8 thousand euros of Sakharov Rescuers Award rewards transferred to United24
The Sakharov Prize is the main award of the European Union in the field of human rights. It is awarded to those who have made an exceptional contribution to the struggle for human rights throughout the Earth.
In December last year, the brave and courageous people of Ukraine in the person of President Volodymyr Zelensky, elected leaders and civil society, including the employees of the State Emergency Service, received the Sakharov European Parliamentary Prize. It also provides for a monetary reward.
Rescuers received 8,000 euros, which they decided to transfer to United24, a global initiative in support of Ukraine, which involves caring citizens from all over the world.
We are all united by a single goal — to defeat the enemy, to preserve the lives of our citizens and to establish peace on Ukrainian soil. After all, in unity is our strength.
