On January 23, on the “Details of the Week” program, Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky spoke about a series of pseudo-replacements that swept through the country in the last month.

He said that during this period more than 500 reports of mines were received by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This represents half of all such statements received by law enforcement officers for the entire past year.

The minister noted that this indicates that pseudomination is increasingly being used as a tool of hybrid warfare.

According to representatives of the cyber police investigating these cases and other law enforcement agencies, about 70% of such messages come either from the occupied territories or from the Russian Federation. Another part is from the Republic of Belarus and only one in five messages comes from the territory of Ukraine. These are not only calls, but also messages to e-mail.

“It is very difficult to establish the subject who sent this message, because often we reach a certain limit. For example, an IP address that is tied to e-mail and is located on the territory of the Russian Federation,” said Denis Monastyrsky.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that in Ukraine minors are often involved in such offenses. They cannot be prosecuted, but everyone should understand how big a school this causes for city dwellers, those who arrive at the airport, at the train station, or just go to school.

“First of all, I want to say that all, more than 500 messages, turned out to be fake. Unfortunately, this means that it will be very difficult to minimize them in the near future, because it really is one of the tools of hybrid warfare.

Should I let my children go to school? Yes, of course! We must emphasize that this will not interrupt ordinary life. Children will go to schools, state institutions and shopping centers will work,” Monastyrsky said.
