5.5 thousand dollars for a medical certificate: in Odessa the doctor demanded a bribe from a soldier

Law enforcers in Odessa exposed a corrupt scheme for obtaining medical certificates for complications of health conditions. The urologist of one of the local hospitals demanded illegal benefits from a soldier who was wounded during the fighting.
For 5.5 thousand dollars, he promised to contribute to the unhindered receipt by the serviceman of medical certificates confirming the deterioration of his health.
Law enforcement officers detained the defendant while receiving illegal benefits. He was informed of the suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
