5 thousand dollars for unsuitability for military service: law enforcement officers detained a money extortionist
In Zaporizhzhia, law enforcement officers detained a 58-year-old public figure who demanded money from his husband for resolving the issue of unsuitability for military service.
As it turned out, the extortionist is the head of a local public organization. In order to get rich, he entered into a criminal conspiracy with an official of one of the medical institutions of the regional center. The defendant promised a man of legal age unhindered registration and issuance of fictitious medical documentation, which is the basis for obtaining a disability group and subsequent exclusion from military registration.
The preparation of the specified documentation involved the preparation of fictitious extracts, certificates, descriptions, MRI results, ultrasound with non-existent diseases, which the attacker planned to provide to the VLC and the regional MSEC for removal from military registration or provision of a disability group. The cost of such services was 5 thousand dollars.
The police detained the intruder while receiving another part of illegal monetary benefits in the amount of 10 thousand hryvnias.
The actions of the defendant are qualified under Part 3 of Art. 369-2 (Abuse of influence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspect was given a precautionary measure in the form of house arrest. He may face imprisonment for up to eight years with confiscation of property.
