The channel for the transfer of women to the Republic of Lithuania was blocked by law enforcement officers in Odessa region.

The organizer of the criminal business, a 23-year-old native of Kharkiv region, was looking for attractive women in Odessa who were in a difficult financial situation and wanted easy earnings. The abuser convinced the girls of the benefits of “work”, promising sky-high earnings. For the quality performance of her work, the recruiter guaranteed them earnings from 500 to 1000 euros per night and “polite” customers. After receiving a positive decision from the girls, the defendant organized their transfer to the Republic of Lithuania for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

Victims of trafficking were tried to be taken out of Ukraine by regular bus. Law enforcement officers detained them on the Kiev highway, and the recruiter at her place of residence. During the authorized search, the defendants seized mobile phones with correspondence with the victims and other evidence of illegal activity.

The organizer of human trafficking was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum sentence for such crimes is 12 years imprisonment with or without confiscation of property.
