200 hours of community work for phone fraud
A resident of Izmail searched a 63-year-old woman under the pretext of temporary use of the gadget. For this, the offender received a court indictment.
The police found that the 35-year-old defendant came home to her older acquaintance under the guise of helping with the household. From the hostess, she asked for a mobile phone for short-term use and went with him on business. For several days, the victim waited for an acquaintance, and when she realized that she had been searched and would not return, she turned to the police.
Employees of the investigation sector of the Izmail district police department found the intruder, seized someone else's gadget from her, which she planned to sell, and returned the owner.
“On the basis of the collected evidence, the police officers under the procedural leadership of the Izmail District Prosecutor's Office brought the offenders charges of seizing other people's property by abuse of trust, that is, fraud, which is provided for by part 1 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. After reviewing the case materials provided by law enforcement officers, the court found the accused guilty of committing a criminal offense and imposed a punishment on her in the form of two hundred hours of community work,” said Natalia Marymorovych, head of the inquiry sector of the Izmail district police department.
