The legal clinic is a unit of higher education institution with specific conditions of study, belonging to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (hereinafter — the Ministry of Internal Affairs), which can operate on a public basis and carries out activities on the basis of the current legislation of Ukraine, the Charter of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Regulations on the Legal Clinic of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The basis of the functioning of the legal clinic is the combination of interests of citizens in need of legal assistance and those unable to pay for the services of a lawyer and applicants for higher education, interested in obtaining practical knowledge that contributes to their employment and career in the future.

The main tasks of the legal clinic of the Ministry of Internal Affairs:

• increasing the level of practical knowledge, skills and abilities of higher education applicants of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
• ensuring access of representatives of socially vulnerable groups of society to legal assistance;
• formation of legal culture of citizens;
• preparation and training of higher education graduates of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the spirit of observance and respect for the principles of the rule of law, justice and human dignity;
• expansion of cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, training lawyers, with judicial, law enforcement, justice, state authorities and local self-government, with other institutions and organizations;
• introduction of practical training elements into the educational process of the Higher Education Institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
