Information notice on conducting electronic consultations with the public on the draft order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “On Approval of the Procedure for Informing the Population on Concentrations of Arsenic, Cadmium, Mercury, Nickel and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Atmospheric Air”

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine conducts electronic consultations with the public on the draft order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine “On Approval of the Procedure for Informing the Population on Concentrations of Arsenic, Cadmium, Mercury, Nickel and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Atmospheric Air” (hereinafter referred to as the draft order) published on September 10, 2020 in the subheading “Draft regulations” of the heading “Normative base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs” of the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine: here.

The implementation of the draft order will apply to the following social groups of the population: citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and stateless persons residing in the country. Stakeholders to whom the implementation of the draft order will apply: hydrometeorological organizations that monitor and assess the quality of atmospheric air.

Possible consequences of the implementation of the draft order for these social groups of the population and interested parties are:

  • improvement of the atmospheric air quality monitoring system by determining the order of informing the population about concentrations of arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in atmospheric air in zones and agglomerations;
  • preventing or reducing the harmful effects of pollutants on human life and/or health and the environment;
  • informing the population about the quality of atmospheric air, the impact of its pollution on the health and livelihoods of the population;
  • increasing the level of protection of the population from pollutants, and thus strengthening the capacity of the state to ensure the salvation of its life and health;
  • harmonization of the legislation of Ukraine in the field of hydrometeorological activities with the legislation of the European Union, thus building the international image of the country as a place for safe visiting and staying.

The report on the results of electronic consultations with the public on the draft order will be published in the subsection “Electronic consultations with the public” of the “Public consultations” section of the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine within two weeks after the adoption of decisions based on the results of the discussion.
